~~~OCEANSIDER OF THE MONTH~~~

Danielle Reed has been one busy young lady.  Aside from her studies at Oceanside High School , Danielle spends many hours per week volunteering her time on school and community activities.  Danielle has been a Key Club member for four years, two of those as Lt. Governor of this Kiwanis-sponsored organization, overseeing the activities of ten high school Key Clubs.  She helped raise over $1,000 at her “Mile of Dimes” event for the March of Dimes, held at Nathan’s.  She donates blood regularly to Long Island Blood Services and assisted in setting up a blood drive at OHS and soliciting students to donate.  She is active with the Michael Valente Lodge #2667, Order Sons of Italy, where she is its youngest member.  Recently, she sang the Italian National Anthem at Eisenhower Park for Italian-American Night. Danielle also assisted the Boy Scouts by participating in a senior citizen project that entailed entertaining Seniors at several nursing homes in surrounding communities.  Danielle is an accomplished musician, plays fourteen instruments, sings like a nightingale, was named “Most Musical” at OHS and has received many awards at music festivals across the State.  She has received much recognition for her extra-curricular activities and gives of her time freely.  She is the youngest member of the Long Island Banjo Society where she plays a sings on a regular basis. Danielle will be attendingHofstra Honors College in September.  Look for her in the future. She's up and coming!!
